About KIT’s work on inclusive value chains, responsible business conduct and financial inclusion in low and middle-income countries
The vacancy is part of KIT’s Responsible Agribusiness team which works on the broad themes of value chain development, inclusive finance, and responsible business conduct. Within these themes we aim to drive transformative change in the mind-set, policies and practices of businesses, organisations and other actors in agri-based and natural resources-based value chains, both global and local. At the global level, we support multi-stakeholder initiatives and facilitate organisations and companies to reflect on responsible policies and practices in their value chains. Within this, our work focuses on promoting gender equality and human rights, eliminating child labour and securing a living income for people involved in global value chains while safeguarding natural resources. At the local level, we work to strengthen the integration of smallholder producers and other small-scale actors in value chains, and promote sustainable rural livelihoods. We provide hands-on assistance in analysing value chains and designing actions to improve the inclusion of small-scale producers, women, youth and underserved groups – for example, through improved access to finance, enhanced linkages to buyers, better service provision, upgrading and value addition, and income diversification.
