Yes I DO – battling child marriage, FGM and teenage pregnancy

KIT Health is pleased to share that the Dutch Ministry of Foreign affairs will fund and become a strategic partner in the programme Yes I DO: a coalition against child marriage, female genital mutilation and teenage pregnancy from 2016-2020.

Millions of adolescent girls in developing countries suffer major rights violations and have limited future perspectives because of child marriages, teenage pregnancies and female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C). The issues have common root causes and are mutually reinforcing.

The consortium is led by Plan NL. KIT, Choice, Amref and Rutgers are the other partners. Anke van der Kwaak from KIT: ‘our ultimate goal is that adolescent boys and girls become free from all forms of child marriage, teenage pregnancy and female genital mutilation/cutting and instead enjoy their sexual and reproductive health and rights, allowing them to achieve their full potential. I am very happy to team up with these organisations to achieve our shared vision on youth and sexual reproductive health & rights.’
